“To succeed in life, man was given two means: educational and physical activity. Not separately, one for the soul and the other for the body, but for the two together. With these two means, man can attain perfection.”

Achieving any worthwhile goal requires a change of “state”.

Our nation is suffering from a national health crisis. The fitness industry has grown along with diabetes and obesity rates. How could that be?! The model is broken.

It is time to disrupt the health and fitness delivery models of our country. This website will serve as the portal of my journey and hopefully, the lessons, resources, ideas, mistakes, missteps, and rants.

I lost my Dad to cancer in 1994 at the age of 50.  I’m now 50.  As a pharmacist he voluntarily enrolled in some advantageous experimental cancer treatment protocols — he was allowing the doctors to hack.

I have been a weightlifter for over 32 years.  In 2014 I completed my first Spartan Race Sprint (no penalty burpees!) with my 14yo daughter — it was during that race I realized that I need to really “change my state” around my aerobic capacity and hack my fitness.

By day I am the COO of a nonprofit organization with over 1,500 employees.  In my work the worst words are “we’ve always done it this way” — I’m a status-quo hacker.  Hacking my fitness is keeping me on top of my game professionally and personally.

Anything you read or see here is strictly informational and not prescriptive.  There is no such thing as a contraindicated exercise BUT some exercises are contraindicated for some people.  Always consult your personal physician before embarking on a fitness regimen.  Your hairdresser or personal trainer may know you better but your doc will know what you should and should not be doing.

Any articles I share by other authors or sources are the beliefs of those authors and sources, not necessarily mine and my sharing should not imply endorsement.

Some links shared on the site are affiliate links which means Hack Fitness earns revenue (typically enough for a cup of coffee) if your purchase something from the featured link.  None of it is crap and I’ve purchased everything posted.
